Modified KLN90B – Aircraft Instruments
- Replaced Computer
- Ethernet Interface
This Bendix GPS unit is still in use by a foreign air force. Their flight simulators need a KLN90 in the simulator cockpit that can be driven by the host computer. AITI bought KLN90B cores, removed the GPS components, but kept the actual CRT and High Voltage power supply. Our custom design microcontroller board used two processors, one to refresh the CRT, another to scan the buttons and encoders and communicate with the host computer over ethernet. Maps were sent from host computer in UDP Ethernet packets, transferred to the video processor thru dual port Ram, and displayed on the CRT in this modified KLN90B.
AITI is a world leader in the design, development and production of instruments, control panels and displays for military, commercial and industrial applications. We can build from as much as your detailed performance specification or to as little as napkin sketches.
We have done it all.
We have done it all.
